NoMad is officially crossing the pond as the hotel, which has outposts in NYC, Las Vegas and LA, is opening in Covent Garden next summer. The hotel will take over the Bow Street Magistrates Court and Police Station – one of team LOTI got a look inside the building ten years ago and it’s a beaut – turning the space into 91 bedrooms, drawing on the original architecture and features for the design. Think English heritage meets NY art scene.
The original courtroom will be turned into a private events space, there’ll also be an on-site museum with rotating exhibitions that touch on the history of the Met Police, and the hotel will also be home to the first NoMad lounge… As with the other NoMad properties, the food and drink comes courtesy of Daniel Humm and Will Guidara of Eleven Madison Park, who also happening to be opening a restaurant inside Claridge’s, so we’re very keen to see what they’ve got planned. Fingers crossed they’re bringing THAT chicken with them.
